Meet Your Doctor

Dr. Thomas R Smart, DDS

Dr. Thomas Smart, DDS is a Coeur d'Alene native and graduate of the University of Idaho. In 1999, after he completed his dental training at Creighton University, Dr. Smart joined his father at Smart Family Dentistry. The father and son duo worked together for six years before Dr. Richard Smart retired in 2005. Like his father, Dr. Smart is known for his gentle spirit and kind nature, allowing him to have a strong connection with his patients. From simple to complex cases, Dr. Smart demonstrates his technical skills, aesthetic eye and knowledge of the latest advances in dentistry. Dr. Smart prides himself on a practice that provides high quality dental care in a relaxed, comfortable environment.

​Dedicated to life-long learning, Dr. Smart actively engages in continuing education opportunities including being an active member of the Inland Empire Periodontal Study Club. He is a tri-partite member of the American Dental Association, the Idaho State Dental Association, and the Idaho Panhandle Dental Society. Dr. Smart is a past president of the Idaho Panhandle Dental Society, past trustee on the board of the Idaho State Dental Association, and currently serves as secretary/treasurer on the Idaho Dental Insurance Agency, a helpful arm of the Idaho State Dental Association.

​Dr. Smart is proud to serve the greater Coeur d'Alene community and continue what his father began building in 1973.
